Tour Overview
This excursion provides a rare opportunity to see the major migration river crossing, which typically takes place from late July to late October. Rainfall is the primary factor influencing wildebeest migration, hence at times, the crossing may be postponed until early November.
Early in July is often when the big migration starts to head north in preparation for the gestation season. On their way to the Masai Mara Game Reserve, they pass through the Wagakuria region.
The herds are most likely to be found dispersed throughout the northern Serengeti in Tanzania and the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya in September. Some of the herds may choose to cross the river and begin their journey to the south, while others may decide to stay in the northern portion of the Serengeti, with rainfall serving as the primary determinant of the wildebeest migration.
To be ready for the calving season in February, the migrating herds set out on their return trip to the Southern Plains of the Serengeti in late October or early November. Book your 8-day Wildebeest Migration Crossing adventure now with us

Tanzania’s Manyara National Area is a wonderfully beautiful park. You will be greeted with a magnificent vista of verdant woodlands filled with various tree types as you enter the park.
Well, this is the opportunity you have been waiting for. Start preparing your thoughts for what lies ahead. Up until the evening, there will be plenty of chances for you to go on a game drive and explore the many sites. You will take a brief break in the afternoon to have a picnic lunch in the most breathtaking location.
After the lunch break, you get a great chance to experience the beauty of Manyara to the utmost. Continue the game drive and keep looking for wildlife until you have a clear understanding of how valuable the park is. Animals including buffalo, giraffes, impalas, baboons, and blue monkeys may be present. If you’re lucky, you might see the lions that are known for scaling trees in Manyara.
At Lake Manyara, you may also watch a massive flock of flamingos swimming in the river. Gratitude for a well-spent day. After the game drive, your guide will drive to a lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight Farm House Lodge.
Day 3:
Karatu to Ngorongoro Crater
What a fantastic day it is! After a delectable breakfast this morning, you will see one of the natural wonders of the world, making today even better. You will travel roughly 14 km to reach Loduare Gate, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area’s primary entrance gate. Drive on and drop more than 600 meters into the Ngorongoro crater to witness wildlife after finishing the check-in requirements. With year-round access to water and food, this scenic location is home to a wide variety of species, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, hippo, eland, and elephants.
Numerous predatory creatures, including lions, jackals, cheetahs, and leopards, can also be found in the crater. One of the biggest attractions of the crater, Lake Magadi, will also be on your itinerary. Due to the lake’s size, shallowness, and alkalinity, numerous flocks of flamingos, hippos, and other water bird species assemble there. The crater floor is the most worthwhile location for your midday picnic lunch and calls for a short break to take in the view of the largest intact caldera before continuing with the game drive.
In the evening your guide will drive to the Lodge for dinner and overnight at Farm House Lodge.
Day 4:
Karatu to Central Serengeti National Park
As we begin to travel along the major route of the great migration, today is yet another inspirational day. After breakfast, we will leave the highlands and go to the Serengeti National Park, a wildlife nature reserve, before descending into the limitless plains. As you travel to the Serengeti’s middle region, also known as Seronera, keep your eyes open and take in as much as you can. After that, you will continue driving until you reach the Lobo region in northern Serengeti.
The big migration often passes through the Lobo region twice a year: once in late October and early November and once between July and August (when it travels to Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve for the gestation period) (going to the southern plains of Serengeti for calving season).
After arriving in plenty of time for lunch, we have a game drive through the central Serengeti region in the late afternoon. After a few hours of wildlife viewing in the evening, your guide will transport you to the lodge where you will spend the night and have dinner Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge.
Day 5:
Serengeti National Park

You will have the best chance to see wildlife along this route because it is less congested. In the late afternoon stop over for a picnic lunch in a well-designated area. After lunch continues you’re your game drive along the river banks, you might see spectacular riverine trees and birds like kingfishers and fish eagles. Spend the day on a game drive in this worthy region, which is full of sights to see till dusk.
After the game drive your guide will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight Kubu kubu Tented Lodge.
Day 6:
Lobo to Wogakuria area (Northern Serengeti)
We left for the Northern Serengeti’s Wagakuria region after a well-earned breakfast. Before arriving at the destination, take a wonderful game drive along the way. This will be a fantastic opportunity to see one of the best routes for the wildebeest’s yearly migration.
Depending on your luck, you might see giraffes, buffalo herds, or even elephants along the trip. The likelihood is that you will arrive in the afternoon and eat a cooked meal at the lodge before taking a brief break and going on an afternoon game drive. The herds are often most likely to be seen in the Wakaguria region from August to October.
One of the most amazing moments of your Tanzanian safari is seeing the Mara River cross. The Serengeti National Park’s northern regions are traversed by the river. After a successful day, your guide will take you to the lodge. Enjoy the delicious bush dinner, relax, and get ready for the next day’s adventure Dinner and Overnight at Mara Under Canvas.
